It is so good to say those words…. “Welcome back!”. It has been too long since we have been able to be together as an Association. Since 1966 the New York State Association for School Personnel Administrators (NYSASPA) has, and continues to serve as a resource to human resource administrators in school districts and BOCES across New York State. Over 50 years later, together we continue to provide meaningful support and quality education to our members. NYSASPA is an affiliate of the American Association for School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) which, established in 1938, is also dedicated to providing members with "services, resources, and information vital to successful school HR practices in the interest of students."
Through patience and perseverance, the NYSASPA 2020 virtual conference was the catalyst in which we continued to provide meaningful support and quality education. It is with much excitement that we are able to offer our annual conference in-person this year! Our outstanding conference program has been shared with the Association and you will see that our conference continues to offer many opportunities to learn and grow. As much as we are looking forward to all the learning, I think it is fair to say that we are all looking forward to being together again at the Otesaga. In 2020 we made lemonade with the lemons we were given, and in 2021 we will enjoy the lemonade side by side with our colleagues from across the state.
I hope you are as excited as I am as we look forward to the 2021 NYSASPA in-person conference at the Otesaga. This amazing program is the creation of many individuals but in particular I want to thank the Executive Board, especially our President-Elect & Co-Conference Chair Lynn Allen, with the support of Vice President & Co-Conference Chair, Dave Cirillo, Corresponding Secretary, Maureen Berman, Recording Secretary, Patrick Flaitz, Immediate Past President, Lin Severance and our Executive Director, Bill Domm.
I hope to see you in Cooperstown starting October 24, 2021.
Ms. Margaret Muenkel
2021 NYSASPA President
